Today, the 21st day of April, 2025 marks a turning point in ikot Esenam community and in the lives of some of our youths whose dream is to become professional football stars in future as pastor Peter utin has finalized a deal to sign a contractual agreement with a popular sports academy in Uyo called BLESSED STARS FOOTBALL ACADEMY to train youths in real- time professional footballing.
As a first step towards the deal, pastor Peter utin flew down to the village with top football coaches and other officials of the sports academy to do a painstaking and thorough selection of the would-be footballers.
The selection was done purely on merit by the professional coaches based on practical performances of each the players on the field.
Players who scaled through the selection processes were advised to go back home to inform their parents about the new development so they could leave for Uyo to begin trainings as as soon as possible.
For those who couldn’t scale through the selection today, pastor Peter utin advised them not to despair as the exercise will be done annually.
At the end of the hunting session, seven persons were meritoriously selected at the first instance.
This is one of pastor Peter utin’s numerous empowerment programs for the youths aimed at giving them life-long careers and sustainable payable skills.
It is of note that BANNABAS AKPAN SAM who is an indigene of Ikot Esenam is on his last leg to graduation from the same sports academy courtesy of pastor utin’s sponsorship.
His dream is to encourage our youths to hone skills in sports such as football and become professional footballers in future.
Out of the seven persons selected, six are indigenes of ikot Esenam while one hails from ikot Adia.
All things being equal, these future stars will one day adorn national colors and will be in high demands to play for our country, Nigeria in national and international sports.
